Young adult customers often seek new content delivered in bite sized formats. Although Amazon Music produced original interviews and live performances, we had no medium to show this in a digestible way.

I started with a competitive analysis of short form content in order to understand aspect ratios and layout in a full screen experience. As I moved on to higher stages of fidelity, I explored different visual treatments for story thumbnails and shared these drafts with the greater design team for feedback.

I delivered a vertical, full screen mobile experience that allowed customers to watch everything from concert clips to interviews of their favorite artists. With one tap, customers can jump from Stories to playlist, albums, artist detail pages and more. Additionally, I proposed a new shoveler on Browse Home and artist detail pages that would ingress into the Story player screen.

Outcome
While my internship ended before I could oversee the complete dial-up of Stories, I was able to hand-off my designs to the engineering teams. Currently, Stories garners around 50,000 unique users each month with new and fresh content added regularly.
