The play queue is an essential part of the Amazon Music service that allows customers to see previous songs and curate the order of upcoming songs. For years, this experience was lacking in our mobile app. I led the design of a new and improved play queue page with the goals of transparency and ease of control.

Proposed Design
The proposed design is composed of 3 sections: Previous, Queue and Autoplay. Customers have the ability to go back to the original source of their play queue, drag songs between sections, toggle Autoplay on/off and more.

Outcome
After handoff to engineers, my proposed design was implemented across the Amazon Music product. After a month into dial-up, total Play Queue usage was up by 16.5% on iOS and expected to contribute to 18.9MM listening hours by year’s end.
